THIS IS WHERE AMAZING THINGS HAPPEN.
Zone members in high school can use the Street Sound Media Suite to unleash their creativity. If you have (or want to see if you have) an interest in music and media, then call in to the studio to see what you can do.
Whatever you want to do… Music, Radio, Film, Photography, Graphic Design, have a jam, learn to engineer… we’ve got you covered.
With many years professional experience behind them, our expert staff are here to guide you, mentor you and help you sound and look your best each and every project.
To make sure members get the most from their recording time, we are currently using a booking system for the studio.
If you would like to make a booking, email Simon here.
Do you ever listen to Grimmy, Clara Amfo, Charlie Sloth or Rich Williams on the radio
and think... I could do that!
Do you want to present and record your own show and hear yourself on the radio?
If the answer is YES then you’re in the right place.
The Zone produces the shows you want to hear and has them played out on Radio Jcom, our Leeds Jewish Community Radio Station.
Year 7+ Zone members can book sessions in the studio and learn to plan, record, produce and edit your own shows using Logic pro software, under the expert guidance of our in house producer Hamlet.
If you would like to book a session or just find out more, email the studio here.
We are delighted to introduce “Daniel’s Story Time”.
Daniel has been narrating and editing children’s stories at The Zone for the past 5 years. He initially started recording stories for visually impaired children to listen to and for visually impaired parents to play to their children. However, all children love these stories so we thought we’d post some on here for you to check out.
Daniel has Asperger Syndrome and has learnt how to record and edit shows at The Zone. He tells us that his studio session here is the highlight of his week.
Music is all about emotion and is a really great way of expressing yourself creatively.
If you are a singer, musician, songwriter, producer or band member then you need to stop by the studio to see what we can offer. Our expert staff have years of experience in helping young people realise their potential and would love to work with you on your next project.
We’ve a range of guitars, bass, keyboard and a vdrums kit for you to use as well as a simple PA system for you to plug into if you fancy a jam in the live room.
If you prefer to be on ‘the other side of the glass’, we could also teach sound engineering and music production in the control room using our x32 console, Logic Pro and other outboard gear.
Check out a sample of some of the tracks we’ve recorded. Stop by and speak to Simon or Hamlet about anything you’d like to do next time you’re down at The Zone.
The Zone’s award winning filmmakers are going from strength to strength. Our first film ‘Where Did All The Bagels Go?’ won best film in the 12 - 15 year olds category at the 2012 Golden Owl Awards.
Since then our filmmakers have produced music videos for Zone artists, promotional trailers, visual content for live shows and so much more.
Each year Zone Filmmakers have made films that are screened at Yom Hashoah / Holocaust memorial events and in 2017 teamed up with Inspire by Emma Gordon to produce our first original short film entitled ‘Conflicted’.
We continue to make films and are always looking for people to get involved
(Year 8+). So if you are, or want to be, an Actor, Director, Researcher, Camera Operator, Editor, Sound Recordist, Producer, Writer or just want to get involved somehow then we want to hear from you!
